Connected, Cooperative and Automated Logistics Operations Activity Field launch

In the frame of MODI project, we have conducted interviews with several logistics companies (ALICE members and non-members) to better understand their requirements, needs and the foreseen opportunities of automated road transport and logistics. This has been valuable input for MODI but also gave us a better view on the state of play.

Within ALICE, we have sensed enough and growing interest to launch a new activity field on Connected, Cooperative and Automated Logistics Operations all this with the support of MODI project. The Activity will be led by Zeljko Jeftic from EINRIDE. EINRIDE is both ALICE and CCAM member and part of the CCAM partnership board. The activity aims at:

1. Create a stable framework of logistics companies, shippers and retail under the umbrella of ALICE and supported by MODI project to identify opportunities, needs and gaps in the integration of automated systems in logistics operations.
2. Supporting wider uptake of automated/autonomous, zero-emission vehicles and solution in real-life logistics operations.
3. Discuss the potential of integration of automated and autonomous operations in logistics use cases and scenarios.
4. Engage with the automotive and research sector supporting CCAM partnership and European Commission agenda so the identified needs and challenges are shared and addressed.

This online event will represent the official kick-off of this new activity field.

We count with the support of the European Commission and CCAM partnership. We will encourage logistics users to join and follow the initiatives such as CCAM partnership and projects like MODI, AWARD, ULTIMO, SHOW. We aim to get practical requirements and insights that are crucial for realization of value from road automation in specific use cases.

In the session, participants will get an overview on the prospects from the European Commission and how the CCAM partnership is supporting R&I in the field. The activity field will be introduced and MODI and AWARD project key elements and use cases presented.
