[IPIC 2026 I Webinar] Physical Internet applications for last mile

Tuesday, January 20th, 2026

KEDGE Business School, supported by ALICE and the EU-funded projects DISCO, Shift2Zero and IKIGAI, invites you to a thought-provoking webinar. The webinar will explore how the Physical Internet (PI) framework can enhance the sustainability and efficiency of last-mile delivery. The webinar will explore the real-world implementation of logistics innovations towards net-zero emissions.

Urban logistics is facing increasing challenges due to rising e-commerce volumes, environmental pressures and limited urban space. This webinar will bring together researchers and practitioners to examine how Physical Internet principles, particularly open networks, encapsulation and asset sharing, are being tested and deployed in last-mile operations.

Key topics include:

  • Containerisation for cargo-bike operations in cities
  • Strategic use of public microhubs, integrating logistics service providers’ needs with urban planning

This webinar is one of the events leading up to the 12th International Physical Internet Conference (IPIC 2026), which is being co-hosted by KEDGE BS and IMT Mines Albi. IPIC 2026 will take place in June 2026, comprising a pre-conference in Albi on 5-6 June and a main conference in Bordeaux on 8-10 June.

Join this webinar to preview some of the research and pilot results that will be explored in more depth at IPIC 2026, and to engage with the growing community shaping the future of open, interconnected and sustainable logistics networks.
