[Webinar] SEAMLESS PROJECT on Autonomous Ships – Introduction
Thursday, May 22nd, 2025
The SEAMLESS introductory webinar will kick off a dedicated series exploring the future of autonomous and digitalized inland waterway transport. This session will provide an overview of the project’s structure, its strategic objectives, and how it contributes to greener, smarter logistics in Europe. It will introduce the cutting-edge technologies under development, including autonomous vessel systems and digital platforms, led by NTUA. The webinar will also showcase the two Demonstration Use Cases: DUC1, focused on port and terminal automation (by Sintef Ocean), and DUC2, centered on modular vessel operations and real-time digital logistics coordination (by ZULU). Participants will gain a clear roadmap of the webinar series and understand how each technical element fits into the broader SEAMLESS vision.
Demonstration 1: Northern Europe SSS – Håvard Nordahl (Sintef Ocean)
Demonstration 2: Central Europe IWT – AnnSofie Pauwelyn (ZULU)
Summary and key takeaways – Vassilis Podamatas (NTUA)
