An ALICE webinar organised in the framework of the Horizon Europe AutoMoTIF project, in collaboration with VICOMTECH.
How can automation improve the coordination of port operations, from vessel unloading to cargo storage and onward transport?
Organised by ALICE within the framework of the Horizon Europe AutoMoTIF project, this webinar explores practical applications of automation in port operations, focusing on operational integration, technological challenges and the conditions required for deployment.
The webinar contributes to AutoMoTIF’s activities by facilitating knowledge exchange between research and industry, collecting insights from practical automation use cases and engaging stakeholders in discussions on the challenges and opportunities of logistics automation.
VICOMTECH will present a practical use case on Automated Port Operations, exploring how simulation can support the assessment and development of automation solutions across interconnected port processes. The use case covers autonomous MAFI trucks for vessel unloading, autonomous forklifts for cargo handling, automated warehouse operations and intelligent planning and control systems.
Beyond individual technologies, the webinar will explore how these solutions can be integrated into port logistics operations, addressing operational coordination, interoperability and the transition towards deployment.
The discussion will focus on:
The webinar will provide an opportunity for logistics stakeholders, technology providers, researchers and port operators to exchange experiences and contribute to the broader discussion on the future of automated logistics systems.
The insights gathered will support knowledge-sharing and stakeholder engagement activities within AutoMoTIF, while contributing to the ALICE Automation in Logistics initiative.
This event is open to both members and non-members.
TG2 and TG3 members do not need to register, as they will receive an invitation containing the connection details.
The recorded session videos and presentations will be available in the ALICE Knowledge Platform Corridors, Hubs and Synchromodality event page:
