ALICE continued its thought leadership on freight transport resilience with the third webinar in its Resilient Transport Networks series, held on 10 June 2025. The session brought together European experts and project leaders to present and discuss concrete solutions designed to mitigate the effects of disruptions on transport and logistics systems, while promoting energy efficiency and sustainability.
Building on insights from the previous two sessions, this webinar placed a strong emphasis on the practical implementation and integration of resilience tools. The event explored how innovation-driven approaches are being developed and tested across EU-funded projects, aiming to enhance the ability of logistics networks to adapt to systemic shocks such as extreme weather events, infrastructure failures, pandemics, or geopolitical crises.
Key interventions and tools presented
Strategic framing
The session was introduced and moderated by Pablo Segura (ALICE), who emphasised that building resilience into logistics networks is no longer a choice, but a strategic imperative. He encouraged attendees to consider not only technical feasibility but also organisational readiness and cross-sectoral alignment.
The webinar included a live Q&A session, during which participants raised questions on service-based resilience models, cross-border data exchange, and the scalability of pilot solutions to real-life operations. Engagement was high, with over 40 participants from logistics associations, ports, technology providers, and research organisations actively contributing.
Next steps and resources
All presentations and the full webinar recording are now available via the ALICE Knowledge Platform, under the Corridors, Hubs and Synchromodality thematic area. Stakeholders are encouraged to explore these resources and reach out to presenters for further collaboration or inquiries.
