FLEXMCS (Flexible Megawatt Charging Systems, open software architectures, and planning modules creating multi-charger hubs for the European electric
mobility system) project (flexmcs.eu)

FLEXMCS is co-funded by the European Union under grant number 101192657. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union. Neither the European Union nor the granting authority can be held responsible for them.

Introduction

This survey is conducted under the FLEXMCS project and focuses on the business needs and requirements related to the deployment of Megawatt Charging Systems (MCS) and on current needs, challenges, and operational experiences from a multi-stakeholder point of view.

Most of the questions can be answered by selecting one of the predefined answers. We will define user needs and requirements related to the use of ultra-fast charging points by identifying key barriers and challenges experienced by each stakeholder group in the HDV charging ecosystem.

Depending on the stakeholder group you select, the time needed to complete the survey can range between 5 and 20 minutes.

The survey consist of 10 pages. However, each page will focus on a certain stakeholder group, and you will not need to fill in all sections.

Abbreviations used are:
• MCS: megawatt charging system
• ICE: internal combustion engine
• HDVs = heavy duty vehicles (trucks)
• LDVs = light duty vehicles (passenger cars)
• BEVs: battery electric vehicles
• BE-HDV: battery electric trucks
• ZEV: zero emission vehicle
• CCS: combined charging system
• CPMS: charging point management system
• FMS: fleet management system
