The European Commission has officially launched a call for applications for the selection of members of the Commission Expert Group on European Union Research and Innovation for the Automotive Sector (EURIAS).
The establishment of EURIAS follows the publication of the Industrial Action Plan for the European Automotive Sector in March 2025. The expert group will advise the European Commission on the preparation of future policy initiatives and instruments related to research and innovation in the automotive sector.
Purpose of the expert group
EURIAS will support the European Commission by providing strategic advice on research and innovation priorities, helping to strengthen the competitiveness, sustainability, and resilience of the European automotive ecosystem.
The group will consist of approximately 50 members, representing a balanced range of expertise and perspectives from across the automotive value chain.
Who can apply?
Applications are open to EU-based organisations linked to the European automotive sector, including:
- Automotive manufacturers (OEMs)
- Suppliers across the automotive value chain
- Academia and research and technology organisations engaged in cutting-edge automotive R&I
- Civil society organisations relevant to the sector, including those active in mobility, road safety, infrastructure, and operations
As ALICE, we encourage also Logistic actors and energy providers to apply.
Applicants must be legal entities headquartered in the European Union and must comply with the eligibility and independence criteria outlined in the Call for Applications.
Application procedure
Applications must be submitted exclusively via the official application form published by the European Commission. Applicants are required to agree to the Terms of Reference and provide information on their organisation, their representative, and their contribution to the EU automotive research and innovation ecosystem.
Deadline for applications:
2 February 2026, 17:00 (CET)
Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered.
