[Workshop] Digital Twins and dynamic decision-making reinforcing resilience of inland transport

CRISTAL WORKSHOP

This workshop, organised in the frame of the CRISTAL project,  aims to explore and challenge how Digital Twins and the Synchromodal Corridor Management System (SCMS) can reshape the future of multimodal logistics in Europe. Building on insights from the CRISTAL project and stakeholder feedback, the session will: 

• Stimulate debate on the business value, readiness, challenges, and risks of deploying Digital Twins in inland waterways and multimodal corridors.  

• Dive into the SCMS functionalities, assessing how they can support dynamic decision-making, disruption response, and modal shift optimization. 

• Identify business drivers and bottlenecks, including governance, data-sharing, operational integration, and commercial viability. 

• Engage stakeholders interactively through live polling, debate, and provocations, to address business cases priorities and needs. 

This session will be highly participatory and challenge-driven, aimed at tackling digitalization, sustainability pressure, and lack of IWT reliability issues regarding business perspectives and needs.
