The European CIP project CO-GISTICS (www.cogistics.eu) is the first European project fully dedicated to the deployment of cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS) focused on logistics. CO-GISTICS services are deployed in 7 European logistics hubs; Arad (Romania), Bordeaux (France), Bilbao (Spain), Frankfurt (Germany), Thessaloniki (Greece), Trieste (Italy) and Vigo (Spain). CO-GISTICS’ partners are working together for three years on the installation and run of cooperative services on at least 315 vehicles (trucks and vans).
After having developed the reference architecture in each pilot site, the project is now in its implementation phase and will start the baseline measurement as the first part of the assessment process. An early version of the business model already exists and will be finalised toward the end of the project.
CO-GISTICS has developed a questionnaire for logistics stakeholders in the framework of Task 6.1 of the project, related to business models. This questionnaire aims to:
a) explore the potential of the CO-GISTICS services to be commercially exploited
b) identify the optimal way for them to be introduced and enter the market as business products
c) refine preliminary business plans and explore the CO-GISTICS business viability perspective
