We are pleased to invite ALICE members to join the upcoming webinar “The AI & DT Digital Ambition of the Port of Algeciras taking place on 10th September 2025, from 11:00 to 12:30 CET.

This webinar is part of the ALICE Webinar Series on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Twin (DT), showcasing practical applications and innovative approaches to accelerate the digital transformation of freight transport and logistics.

We warmly invite other ALICE members who are interested in sharing their experiences and real-life use cases of AI and DT applied to freight transport and logistics to do so by submitting the attached form.

This session is part of the activities of ALICE Thematic Group 3 and aims to explore how Artificial Intelligence and Digital Twin technologies can transform port operations, drive sustainability, and strengthen global supply chains.

Webinar/Workshop Focus

The Port of Algeciras is spearheading the integration of AI and Digital Twin technologies into its port-logistics ecosystem, creating the “Next Generation Algeciras Port.” This transformation is built on operational excellence, sustainability, and digital-physical integration, positioning the port as a smart node in global logistics.

During this session, speakers will present APBA’s digital innovation roadmap and highlight high-impact use cases such as AI-enabled traffic flow optimisation, smart bunkering, satellite-powered infrastructure diagnostics, and environmental intelligence. Participants will gain insights into how data-driven innovation is addressing congestion, operational uncertainty, and risk management, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and open innovation.

Speakers

  • Ignacio Serra Viedma – Innovation Office, Algeciras Bay Port Authority (APBA), Port innovation consultant and member of the APBA Innovation Technical Office, responsible for developing innovation programmes and fostering an open innovation culture.
  • Candela Sancho García – CEO & Co-Founder, Detektia, Physicist specialised in geophysics with extensive experience in ground deformation analysis. Leads Detektia in developing AI and InSAR-based solutions for ground and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Ángel Martínez Cavero – Customer Adoption & Product Value Manager, NextPort, Telecommunications Engineer with expertise in business development, ensuring AI-enabled port solutions deliver measurable value and align with operational challenges.
