In addition to ALICE, several members of the ALICE network are also part of the EURIAS Expert Group, including Volvo, Renault, Gruber Logistics, einride, ELES, IMEC, TNO and VICOMTECH.
This strong representation reinforces the role of logistics in shaping future automotive innovation at European level.
First EURIAS meeting
The first meeting of the EURIAS Expert Group took place on 27 March 2026 in Brussels, bringing together all selected members for the official kick-off.
The meeting introduced the scope, structure and timeline of the group’s work, including the preparation of the SRIDA, expected by June 2026. Discussions also covered the alignment with ongoing European Commission initiatives and the establishment of sub-groups focusing on key thematic areas such as electric vehicle technologies, digital and connected vehicles, road mobility ecosystem and automotive industrial processes.
The governance of the group, including the Steering Board and rules of procedure, was also presented, setting the basis for the upcoming collaborative work.
Next steps
Following the kick-off meeting, the Expert Group will continue its work through dedicated sub-groups and regular meetings, with the objective of delivering a first draft of the SRIDA in June 2026.
ALICE will actively contribute to this process, ensuring that logistics, freight transport and supply chain requirements for the competitive adoption of new zero-emissions and automated vehicles are reflected in future automotive research and innovation priorities.
