As digital transformation continues to reshape freight transport and logistics, the sixth session in ALICE’s AI & Digital Twin (DT) webinar series explored how Artificial Intelligence – particularly Large Language Models (LLMs) – can streamline order intake, quoting, and decision-making for Full Truck Load (FTL) carriers.
Delivered by Transmetrics, a leading developer of AI-driven logistics solutions, the session demonstrated how unstructured data from emails and freight exchanges can be transformed into actionable insights using tools like Sales Navigator and FleetMetrics. These platforms enable real-time opportunity ranking, predictive pricing, and automated order validation – reducing dispatcher workload and boosting profitability.
Speakers shared how AI models trained on a company’s own historical data can automate quoting in seconds, flag high-value requests, and reduce missed opportunities. Case examples showed dispatchers saving up to four hours per day while increasing fleet earnings by up to €500 per vehicle per month.
The webinar also addressed challenges around system integration, filtering of non-reliable loads, support for groupage and multimodal operations, and the importance of human-in-the-loop governance – emphasising the need for trust, transparency, and operational compatibility. The interactive Q&A focused on capacity integration, subcontractor fleets, multimodal support, and technical aspects of LLM adoption.
Why it matters?
FTL markets are time-critical, price-sensitive, and increasingly digital. By applying AI to quoting and opportunity scoring, logistics companies can increase win rates, improve asset utilisation, and accelerate response times, while ensuring human oversight and trust in decision-making.
