[WORKSHOP] Space-Enabled Solutions for the Future of Logistics

ALICE is pleased to support the upcoming workshop “Space-Enabled Solutions for the Future of Logistics”, organised by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Italian Coast Guard, in cooperation with the Italian Space Agency (ASI). This one-day event will take place on 8 May 2025 at the ASI Headquarters in Rome, bringing together leading voices from logistics, transport and space technology to explore innovative pathways towards a more efficient, resilient and sustainable logistics ecosystem.

This workshop will explore how current and emerging space-based services and data can contribute to addressing pressing challenges across maritime, road and rail logistics. Delegates will explore opportunities for innovation addressing logistics services such as automation, IoT, fleet management, AI, equipment condition monitoring and warehouse optimisation.

We are proud to highlight the participation of two distinguished ALICE representatives:

Paolo Cossu, ALICE Board Member and CEO of FIT Consulting, will contribute to the session on “Future Directions and Trends of Logistics” (11:30–12:30), sharing insights on how logistics strategies are evolving in line with sustainability goals and digital transformation.
Andrea Condotta, ALICE Vice-Chair and representative of Gruber Logistics, will speak during the panel “Innovative Technologies and Services for the Logistics Sector” (14:00–16:00), bringing practical perspectives on the implementation of cutting-edge solutions in multimodal logistics operations.

Their contributions reflect ALICE’s ongoing commitment to fostering collaborative innovation and supporting policy and research initiatives aimed at achieving net zero emissions in logistics.

Participants will have the opportunity to discuss with key stakeholders, explore innovative use cases and identify challenges and opportunities where space-based solutions could have a tangible impact. The results of the event will feed into future calls for proposals supported by ESA and ASI.
