Collaborative Innovation Day: Blockchain applications and cases for logistics

Monday, March 26th, 2018

Blockchain technology is increasing in interest by industry in different application fields including logistics. Most of the times, it is presented as THE way to solve and diminish barriers for collaboration in “non” trusted environments and in ALICE we will assess to what extent this is true and how we can get the best out of this technology.

Collaborative innovation is key to address challenges and opportunities for freight transport and logistics. Following the success and outcomes of previous editions, the objectives of this Collaborative Innovation Day are:

  • Share an overview of the state of play of blockchain applications in the freight transport and logistics domain.

  • Share and discuss achievements, challenges and opportunities addressed by new and ongoing projects/initiatives and Start-ups.

  • Discuss and agree on next steps and research and innovation needs in the application field of block chain to logistics.

Topics addressed:

  • How blockchain can and cannot help in the field of freight transport and logistics.

  • Which are the most prominent use cases in the area of logistics?. Is blockchain ready for implementation or some barriers still need to be overcome in those fields?

  • What is part of a hype and what is part of a future development? What is needed in terms of Research and Innovation to get the best out of Blockchain in the field of logistics and supply chain?

The Collaborative Innovation Day – “Blockchain applications and cases for logistics” will take place on 9th May 2018 at Everis Living Lab, Pedro i Pons 6-8, 08034, Barcelona, from 10:00 to 16:30 hours.
