These include the One Belt One Road supported by a gigantic Chinese investment programme. In this Collaborative Innovation Day, we will share experiences and knowledge on these new routes, the challenges and opportunities for European Companies and the potential impact for freight transport in Europe. Moreover, we will discuss to what extent, these new routes could have an impact in the way the Trans European Transport Network (TEN-T) is planned and which kind of technical improvements and upgrades would be needed to maximize the benefit.<\/p>\n<p>This topic calls for Collaborative Innovation so it can be addressed from users, transport and technology development perspectives to speed up opportunities valorization. Following the success and outcomes of<strong> previous editions,<\/strong> the <strong><em>objectives of this Collaborative Innovation Day<\/em><\/strong> (CID) are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Share an overview of the state of play of New Global Routes implications on trade and European transport.<\/li>\n<li>Share and discuss achievements, challenges and opportunities addressed by new and ongoing projects\/initiatives and start-ups in the field.<\/li>\n<li>Discuss and agree on next steps and research and innovation needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>Questions addressed:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Which is the effect of the development of these new routes on trans-continental freight modal split?<\/li>\n<li>To what extend these routes may impact global trade?<\/li>\n<li>Which are the most prominent use cases for European Industries.<\/li>\n<li>Do we need additional interfaces between the new overland routes and the EU internal transport networks \/ corridors?<\/li>\n<li>How technology will increase performance and services over these routes?<\/li>\n<li>What is needed in terms of Research and Innovation to get the best out of the new global routes?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>ALICE together with ICCS and the Greek Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport are organising this one-day Collaborative Innovation Day \u2013 <strong><em>\u201cNew Global Routes: One Belt One Road Initiative &amp; TEN-T\u201d<\/em><\/strong> that will take place on 6<sup>th<\/sup> of November 2018 <em>at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport,\u00a0 Anastaseos 2, Cholargos, 156 69, Greece.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The event will include very prominent speakers from the European Commission (DG-MOVE), Hellenic Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Networks, Ports of Valencia and Antwerp, JUSDA, COSCO, Shift2Rail, Duisport, Zjifa, EVERIS, CIRCLE and UPV.
