Digitization of transport and logistics enabled by IT connectivity and community platforms are a major driver for connecting the fragmented and manifold actors within transport and logistics. Data sharing, co-operative freight planning, end-to-end visibility are key contributors towards optimised and predictive supply chain planning. CLUSTERS 2.0 (Networked and Efficient Logistics Clusters) and AEOLIX (Architecture for European logistics Information Exchange) are two European research projects that focus on concepts and solutions designed to make the European transport system more efficient, sustainable, collaborative and interconnected.
